POPULAR POST NAME TWO GOES RIGHT HERE
In case you missed it over on my IG Stories, I had the immense pleasure to spend last weekend riding to the beat with 11 of my newest friends at a local spin instructor teacher training. I’ve been riding for almost two years (my spinaversary is June 22!) and felt deeply inspired to teach spin when I took an instructor course last summer that I initially went into to elevate my yoga teaching and left it with an insane itch to get on the podium (lol, thanks Hannah!)
Even though I’d been waiting six months to do the training, I was nervous AF. Even with my extroverted personality, I was willingly diving head first into one of my major fears (and I wonder if you can relate?) – meeting new people and they don’t accept me.
I’m not sure how I got this into this mindset (I’ll blame it on past friendships that went awry and my at-times loud personality) but even now, one month away from 28, I’m nervous of not being accepted in a group of people.
However, more often than not, your worst fears usually never come true and it felt so good to create fun friendships with my classmates and find connections beyond spin. Part of the reason why I thoroughly enjoy fitness in particular (I’m sure other interest groups can also relate), it brings together special groups of people that do hard things, move their body for joy, and encourage others to come join.
And if that’s a club with free access, I want in – despite my fear.
This week, I encourage you to take some time to think of what you could do to step out of your comfort zone and instead flip the script to, “What opportunities can I step into?”
As Taylor, one of my favourite spin instructors, said in a class that I’ll never forget, “Step into what you’re capable of.”
So let’s get it – and always remember that I’m cheering you on. <3
